There are several wireless networks in use at Harper Creek. In general, district-owned Windows computers connect to the Secure network. No other devices should connect to this one. Chromebooks connect to the WLAN and Staff and Student networks exist for personally-owned devices to connect.

Student Wireless Devices

To access the student network, select HCCS-Student from your personally-owned device. When asked for login information, use your HC network account (without the and password.

Staff Wireless Devices

Staff with personally-owned devices can connect them to the HCCS-Staff network using the same process outlined for student devices.

Guest Network

The guest network is intended for temporary use by visitors to the district. Students and staff should use the respective networks. The guest network is more heavily filtered than the student and staff networks.

Android Devices

In Android 11 or later, you need to manually install a certificate before connecting to the wireless network.

Download the certificate file from your Android device here: HCCS Certificate

  • Open settings
  • Go to 'Security'
  • Go to 'Encryption & Credentials'
  • Go to 'Install from storage'
  • Select 'CA Certificate' from the list of types available
  • Accept a large scary warning
  • Browse to the certificate file on the device and open it
  • Confirm the certificate install
  • Attempt to join the wireless network
  • Enter your username for 'Identity'
  • Leave 'Anonymous Identity' blank
  • Enter 'hccs.local' for domain
  • Select the certificate you installed earlier
